Sweet Rosie Mae is hosting a two-day Act Workshop Series where you can book a private 1-hour session to workshop an existing act, develop an act in progress, or dedicate the hour to focused technique support.
Booking within these designated time periods allows you to access a discounted rate of $50/hour.
Sessions may include:
Technique support, overall act refinement, musicality focus, choreography assistance (not full choreography creation), storyline development and more, depending on your needs
This is a personalized hour designed to strengthen, clarify, and elevate your work - we will discuss your ideal plan before the session.
Sunday March 15 & Saturday March 21
1hr sessions between 11am-6pm
During this eight-week act creation and development workshop, performers will have the opportunity to create and refine a single act—solo, duet, or group—under the guidance of Sweet Rosie Mae and Rita Ann'tique.
For the first four weeks, participants will focus on concept and choreography creation with Rosie. In the final four weeks, they’ll work with Rita on character development.
This workshop offers a dedicated weekly space to develop every aspect of an act, with feedback on costumes, musicality, choreography, storyline, character, and future goals.
It’s ideal for performers to join this workshop with at least a few of the following elements already in mind: an overall act concept (it doesn’t need to be fully refined), potential song choices (even if still narrowing them down), and a general costume direction. This ensures they have enough time to gather and prepare all necessary pieces over the course of the eight weeks.
Participants will also receive a full-length, professional video filmed during their showcase performance, perfect for submitting to show and festival applications.
The workshop culminates in a final showcase at Hail Mary, performed for a live audience and a panel of three industry professionals, who will provide live feedback immediately following each debut.
