THE FUNKTION CLASSES
THE FUNKTION CLASSES
The Funktion House runs its classes in two forms: mini series or workshops. Mini series are in studio training classes while workshops typically are performance driven (Improv, Act Development, Chorus Line, etc)
The Funktion Mini Series are 4-week class series offered in a variety of burlesque styles and related technique classes. The goal of each series is to give performers the chance to commit to multi-week training that supports consistent growth and skill development.
Each class is 1.5 hours in length, making it more workshop-style than a standard drop-in. Classes typically include a warmup, a review of technique, choreography, and time to film the choreo.
For those who cannot commit to the full 4 weeks, drop-in options are available. Performers can purchase a single drop-in or a package of 3, which can be used across different mini series styles.
REGISTRATION:
All sessions and workshops listed below can be purchased according to their corresponding week value. *
If you’re dropping into a Mini Series class, you can purchase it below—just be sure to include the date and class name in the checkout form. We also offer drop-in packs of 3 which you can use across multiple mini series.*
Miss a Class?
If you miss a class in a Mini Series, you can make it up by attending a similar or identical class in another Mini Series within one month of the missed date.
*All classes are non-refundable.
If you sign up for a Mini Series or Workshop and are later unable to attend the session, you may transfer your entire registration to a later session within three months of the original start date.
For drop-in classes, your single class purchase is valid for 30 days from the purchase date and a pack of 3 classes is valid for 60 days from purchase. If you cancel within 1 hour of the class start time, the class will no longer be valid for reuse unless there are extreme circumstances.

A 4-week mini series focused on how we listen to music, how we move to music, and how we create a conversation between our movement and the music. This series differs from our usual Improv Workshop by incorporating more choreographed elements, allowing performers to practice musicality within a structured, technical framework. Classes will blend guided movement with music theory concepts, giving performers practical tools to interpret rhythm, dynamics, and structure with intention.

Mini Series Q & A:
Q: Do I need prior burlesque experience?
A: Not always! Some series are beginner-friendly, while others may suggest prior performance or dance experience. Check the class description for details
Q: What’s the difference between a mini series and a regular workshop?
A: Mini series are structured, multi-week classes designed for consistent training in studio. Our workshops are usually longer and geared towards stage performance.
Q: Can I drop into any week of the mini series?
A: Yes, unless the mini series is sold out to those who have purchased the entire 4 weeks. Availability will be noted above.
Q: Are the classes filmed?
A: Yes. Each class includes time to film the choreography so you can track progress or use the footage for personal practice, but you may choose not to participate in the filming portion of the class.
Q: What happens if I miss a class?
A: If you are registered for a full mini series (4 weeks) and miss a class, you may make it up in a similar or identical mini series offered within 30 days.
Single drop-in: Valid for 30 days from purchase.
3-class drop-in package: Valid for 60 days from purchase.
Please note: If you no-show or cancel within 60 minutes of the class start time, that class cannot be rescheduled or transferred.
If you register for a mini series but can no longer attend the entire series, you must notify the studio within 24 hours of the first class. In this case, you may transfer your registration to another start date (for the same or a different mini series) within 60 days.
